How long does it does it take to have permanent hair removal?

Electrolysis is a commitment that can take 6 months to a year of coming on a weekly or biweekly basis. There is no Electrologist that can tell you how long it will take. Each person is different. How often you come will determine the amount of time it will take for permanent hair removal. Coming on a weekly basis will ensure a quicker result. If you come less than weekly or biweekly then the hair cycles can be missed and it can take 3 months to a year for that one hair to regrow.

How long does is take to remove hair on each area?

Everyone is different. Also all areas are different. Facial hair can be more time consuming to remove if there has been a lot of twee-zing or waxing. As the hair grows back from the repeated trauma from the forceful hair removal, the hair becomes thicker and more attached. This hair can be removed, it just might take a little more time. The areas where there hasn't been twee-zing will be a lot easier to remove and less time consuming and a lot more hair can be removed in a shorter amount of time.​

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Drink a lot of water. As much as you can safely the day before and the day of. The more water you have to wet the follicle will make the process go a lot quicker and easier for you. A dry follicle will make the extraction more time consuming. There also needs to be at least two days of hair growth.

Does it hurt?

Each person is different. It's not painful, however removal of some hair is more uncomfortable than others. I will make sure that we are on the perfect setting for you.​

What areas am I, (Crystal) able to treat?

I am able to treat all areas above the waist (except inside the ears and inside the nose) and I DO NOT offer Brazilian, or similar, services at Southern Belle Vanity.

How long does any one specific area take?

All areas are different. It depends on the hair type (coarse, thin, thick) and how much hair is on the area. There is no way to know how long it will take until the treatment starts. A free consultation can help to set up a plan to get a better idea on how long it might take.

Why is electrolysis better than laser hair removal?

Electrolysis is the only FDA proven permanent hair removal procedure. Electrolysis can remove all hair color on any skin type. Laser hair removal is not permanent and only works on certain hair color and skin types.​

Will I get any scars or bleed?

No, electrolysis does not leave any scars or cause any bleeding. The hair follicle is accessed through the pore, preventing any breaking of the skin.​

How long will I have to wait before I can go to work or school?
There is no down time. Some clients go right to work afterwards. There is a small amount of redness on the treated area. Each person is different however, the area will not be red for more than an hour or two.
